Grayson County Texoma Night Out

GRAYSON COUNTY, TX -- Emergency officials from all of Grayson County's cities gathered today for Texoma Night Out.

They stopped in each town in an effort to fight crime. Each city held a different event in order to get community members out of their homes and meet local law enforcement. Residents were able to chat with officers and learn more about what they do.

Police say this also sends a message to criminals that police and residents want their streets back, and are working together.

"We're showing the citizens that the law enforcement here in Grayson County are unified. That they're working together to prevent crime and solve crimes and working with each other," Lt. David Hawley said.

The event has been going on in Grayson County since 1998.

The Grayson County Sheriff's Office says the winners of this year's Texoma Night Out are:

Grayson County College -- Taster Choice Food Award
Howe -- Spirit Award
Tom Bean -- Most Improved
Tioga -- Outstanding Overall
