Grayson County law enforcement celebrate Texoma Night Out

TOM BEAN, TX -- If you were out and about Saturday, you may have seen a line of 15 police cars crusing around Grayson County.

Officers from each law enforcement agency celebrated the annual Texoma Night Out.

Officers traveled from town to town meeting residents. We caught up with the caravan in Tom Bean, where Police Chief John Hunt held a remembrance ceremony for 24 Grayson County officers who have died in the line of duty.

Balloons were released in their honor.

Hunt says the event is important for everyone.

"It's important to get out and meet the officers and know who the officers are. And we want to know who the citizens are. We want to know, we want them to know that we're there to support them. So, it's a good thing for everybody. It's a win, win," Hunt said.

The longest serving officer and newest officer were also represented and took part in cutting the cake.
