PARIS, TX-- A high speed chase in Paris Sunday morning ends with two people behind bars.

Police say 36 year old Stephen Meek and 31 year old Brandi Barber, both of Forestburg, were arrested just after 4 A.M.

They were seen prying open a self serve ice machine in the 1900 block of Bonham Street.

When an officer approached them, they took drove off eventually making it onto the Loop -- reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour.

Police Chief Bob Hundley says luckily the roadways are clear that early in the morning.

"It's very dangerous," said Hundley. "When he spotted them at four o'clock in the morning no other traffic not low traffic or some traffic basically no other traffic was on the roadway."

Officers eventually found the vehicle in a field, then used FLIR, a body heat device, to find the suspects.

Both are charged with burglary of a coin operated machine.
