Hopkins Co. escapees captured

COOPER, TX - Two Hopkins County jail escapees have been captured in Delta County, Texas.

A law enforcement source tells News 12 Brian Allen Tucker of Sulphur Springs and John Marlin King of Cumby were apprehended just about an hour ago in Cooper found hiding in a barn.

This comes after news reports earlier today that the duo were last seen at a relative's house near the Hopkins/Hunt county line.

The relative reportedly fed the two men, left and called police. The search then began for a stolen black 2010 Saturn Vue.

The inmates fled Tuesday morning from the jail in Sulphur Springs, about 20 miles south of Cooper, by scaling a fence or slipping through a gap.

Tucker faces a capital murder charge in the 2011 slaying of Bobby Riley of Mahoney. King last month was sentenced to 40 years in prison in a drug case.

We'll have much more on this developing story tonight on News 12 at Ten.
