Hugo man pleads not guilty to murder charges

CHOCTAW COUNTY, OK -- The Hugo man, charged with two counts of first degree murder, was formally arraigned Tuesday in a Choctaw County courtroom.

33-year-old Dawaylon Rainey is accused of shooting and killing 23-year-old Floyd Clegg, of Colbert, and 19-year-old Qualin Hayden, of Sherman.

Rainey has pleaded not guilty to the crimes.

The double murder happened in August of 2013.

Their bodies were found at the Southwind Acres Apartment Complex in Hugo.

Rainey remained on the run for weeks before turning himself in.

His jury trial is set for June 9th.
