BONHAM, TX -- Nearly 700 people turned out for the 4th annual Susan Hicks Memorial 5K.
The event, put on by Women Rock kicked off at Bonham High School at 8:30. This year the organization added a 10K as well and there was also a Fun Run for kids. The event was held to help raise awareness and educate the public about breast cancer. One runner says it is all about trying to make a difference.
"This is my first 5K so I think I did pretty good I enjoyed it. I like the camaraderie and seeing everybody give it their all and trying to make a difference," runner Michael Beck said.
News 12 is a proud sponsor of the event.
