ATOKA, OK -- Law enforcement officials say they have captured an inmate that escaped from the Howard McLeod Correctional Center in Atoka County.

The Atoka County Sheriff's Office says 56-year-old Kenneth Beasley was captured around 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Beasley escaped from the Howard McLeod Correctional Center Wednesday evening.

Oklahoma Department of Corrections spokesman Jerry Massie says Beasley was serving time for robbery by fear, kidnapping, and escape from custody.

He says McLeod is a minimum security facility, meaning for Beasley to escape it was a matter of not being seen as he walked away, rather than escaping any barriers.
