Inmate injured, one arrested in Pontotoc County stabbing

PONTOTOC COUNTY, OK -- The Pontotoc County Sheriff's Office says an inmate was stabbed Friday evening.

Authorities say they arrested James Holland for allegedly stabbing inmate Roy Shinn Jr. Deputies say Shinn was stabbed once in the stomach. Investigators say he was working at the county agriplex when witnesses say he and Holland got into an argument. Authorities say a witness stated Holland pulled out a knife and stabbed Shinn. Deputies say Holland fled on foot, but was arrested a short time later.

At last check Shinn was listed in stable condition.

Holland's bond is expected be set on Monday.
