BOSWELL, OK - Prison officials say an inmate who escaped custody last night has been apprehended by prison staff in Boswell.
Jerry Johnson at the Howard McLeod Correctional Facility in Atoka tells us 25-year-old David Ray Smith was missing at the midnight inmate count last night. He says an escape team from the prison caught Smith in Boswell around noon today.
Smith was serving a six year sentence for cruelty to animals and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Johnson says he will now face additional jail time, possibly several more years added to his sentence.
