Johnston Co. teen charged with murder appointed an attorney

KENEFIC, OK - A Johnston County teen charged with first degree murder has been appointed an attorney.

Online records show 18-year-old Shelby Hicks appeared in court Monday morning with his lawyer Ed Frock of Ardmore.

Hicks is accused of shooting and killing 24-year-old Sergei Hyde on Dec. 28 at a home near Kenefic.

He is expected back in court for a status conference Feb. 25. Hicks is being held in the Johnston County jail without bond.
