FANNIN COUNTY, TEXAS -- Fannin County residents can light up the skies with fireworks this 4th of July season.
This morning, Fannin County Commissioners decided they will not ban fireworks from now to the 4th of July.
Judge Spanky Carter says they evaluate firework regulations each year based on the amount of rainfall.
"It all has to do with the drought situation from year to year, but this year, we've been real fortunate here in Fannin County. We've got a lot of rain, everything is green, so we didn't see any need to put any restrictions on the 4th of July fireworks season," Judge Carter said.
Texas counties have until June 15th to decide whether they will place restrictions on fireworks for the July 4th season.
