LAMAR COUNTY, TX-- A Lamar County man is recovering in a Dallas hospital after accidentally shooting himself in the face over the weekend.
Sheriff Scott Cass tell us, late Friday night a 63 year old Arthur City man called 911 saying he was shot. Deputies say when they arrived the victim was coherent, and told them he accidentally shot himself in the face.
Sheriff's deputies found a small caliber handgun at the scene. No one else at the residence at the time of the shooting.
The victim was transported in critical condition, by helicopter, to a Dallas hospital. He is now listed in stable condition.
