Lamar County law enforcement catches a dangerous man on the run

The hunt for a Dallas man who allegedly threatened to kill family members and possibly more has ended.

33-year old James Lance Boulware was captured around 11:30 Wednesday morning at the Three Oaks Shopping Center in Paris.

Boulware also made a vague threat about churches and schools in the area. Police say he'd been on the run for nearly a day and had taken several weapons from his brother's home in Paris.

"Found out that the guy had come in and loaded up a bunch of his own personal firearms, ammunition and some kind of body armor." said Paris Police Chief Bob Hundley.

Family members say they spoken with Boulware on a face-time phone call yesterday and during that call he made dangerous threats.

"He made a comment that..."I'm going to kill all the adult members of the family and may even stop by some churches and schools along the way." said Hundley

Several area schools took precautions to protect students. Authorities say Paris schools were on heightened alert, Bonham and Honey Grove were on soft lock down, keeping students inside the buildings.

Deputies in plain clothes and in an unmarked vehicle noticed Boulware in his vehicle and notified police.

"They did a felony stop at the 1900 block of Lamar Avenue and took Mr. Boulware from the vehicle, without incident, nobody was hurt." said Paris Police Officer Curtis Garrett.

Boulware was arrested for felony warrants out of Dallas County. No weapons were found in his vehicle, but authorities say they did find marijuana.

Sheriff Scott Cass says the arrest couldn't have been made without the mutual cooperation of local authorities.

"We can work all together for one goal and that?s to get folks like this off the street and them where they belong, behind bars." said Cass.

"Paris can rest a little bit easier tonight knowing that he?s running loose." said Garrett.

Boulware was taken to Lamar County Jail and faces local marijuana charges. He will later be transferred to Dallas County to face additional charges.
