A combination of very strong winds, falling temperatures and frozen precipitation will make Wednesday and Wednesday night dangerous for motorists. Freezing rain and sleet will change to snow before ending late Wednesday or early Thursday. Wind chills of 5 to 10 degrees...with air temperatures in the low 20s...can be expected. Roads will be icy Thursday morning but should melt during the day as skies clear and temperatures rise above freezing.
MCKINNEY, TX -- A high speed chase that began in Greenville this afternoon ended in McKinney with a woman shot by police.
McKinney Police tell us Greenville police officers initiated the pursuit around 2:30 p.m. on a vehicle occupied by a woman with active felony warrants. As the chase went west, several other agencies joined in the pursuit. It ended at the RaceTrac gas station at University and U.S. Highway 75 in McKinney.
That's when a Leonard police officer fired one shot that struck the female passenger. She was taken to the hospital, and the man driving the car was arrested. Her condition is unknown at this time.
McKinney Police say the Texas Rangers are now assisting them in the investigation. No names are being released.
