Local business owner wants to stop thieves

DURANT, OK -- A Durant business owner says he's fed up after the fourth burglary of his business this year.

Chad Gray, owner of Gray's Sawmill in Durant, says that thieves took copper and other small items from his business Wednesday night. But he wasn't upset about that.

He was upset about $5,500 lost Thursday from productivity. Now he's asking for your help to catch the crook.

Gray believes that the same people have been targeting his business and stealing copper and other items from his company's yard.

He says he called the Bryan County Sheriffs office, and they're investigating, but he doesn't want to get hit again while he waits.

Gray says there are several other thefts that have happened in the area and he thinks they are all connected.

So now he's asking the public to try to identify this man, and stop the burglaries that have been happening in the area.

"Extra video cameras are going into place and some of them are going to be hidden and we're going to make sure they're going to get prosecuted. And so really, this time, it's more about principal than what they really took," said Gray.

Gray is offering a $500 reward for information that leads to an arrest.

No one at the Sheriff's office was available for comment.
