Local company awarded bid for storm clean-up

PARIS, TX-- The city of Paris awarded a local company to clean up hanging limbs and trees that pose a threat to Paris residents.

City manager John Godwin says Ray's Tree Service submitted the lowest bid at $170,000.

The city is in the process of appealing after FEMA denied assistance from December's ice storm, and say they have already put up around $500,000 in clean up costs.

Rays Tree Service is hoping to have all the limbs cleaned up within the next five weeks, and this only includes city property.

The city encourages residents to have all their storm debris to the curb by the end of the week so TNT Disaster Services can make their final rounds of pick-up.
