Local organization educates residents on upcoming elections

SHERMAN, TX-With the general election approaching, the Grayson County League of Women Voters held a meeting Thursday to educate the public about updates to Texas' new voter ID law.

The organization also provided voter registration forms and information about where folks can vote early or on election day in November. League president Jacqueline Moore said this is their way of encouraging citizens to get involved politically.

"Election season is our bread and butter. We're a nonpartisan political organization, we're out to educate voters. Our whole mission is to educate voters," she said.
