LOVE COUNTY, OK -- A Love County man charged in the murder of his brother has been found competent to stand trial.

19-year-old Leroy Jefferson Jr. appeared in a Marietta courtroom Monday.

OSBI says back in December, Jefferson was at a friends' Burneyville home when he picked up a shotgun and fired several times at his brother killing him.

Back in February, Jefferson tried to escape from the Love County Jail but was caught after a short foot chase.

He's scheduled for a preliminary hearing on May 1st.
