SHERMAN, TX -- Construction on the Loy Lake Bridge is expected to close portions of U.S. Highway 75 in the Sherman-Denison area next week.
Weather permitting, TXDOT will install a bridge beam across southbound traffic beginning Thursday night.
As early as 4 p.m. drivers traveling south on 75 will be diverted onto the frontage road before reaching the bridge.
Lanes are set to reopen around 6 o'clock the following morning.
TXDOT says the bridge should reopen in 8 to 10 weeks, while the entire project is expected to end within 10 months.
The project will widen the bridge from two to four through lanes and also add left-turn lanes in each direction to improve safety and relieve congestion.
