MCSO unveils upgraded emergency room

DURANT, OK -- The Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma in Durant has a new and improved emergency room.

The ribbon was cut earlier Tuesday evening, and the new ER is now open for business. The $7.5 million dollar renovation brings the 25 year old ER up to date.

Now there are 21 rooms, a cardiac center, pediatric and bariatric rooms, and a sate-of-the-art trauma room.

CEO Pat Dorris says the renovations allow patients to get the best care possible.

"But helping as well to have us identify what their needs are so that we can continue to provide those services, streamline our service lines, and expedite the care and service and treatment that they need," Dorris said.

Renovations to the rest of the hospital are also underway.
