PUSHMATAHA COUNTY, OK -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirms a North Texas man has died in a plane crash in Pushmataha County.
Troopers say 54-year-old Stephen Mark Hardin of Terrell was killed when the Cessna he was flying crashed in a wooded area about six miles southwest of Sardis Lake.
Authorities believe the plane went down around 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. OHP says Hardin was the only person aboard the aircraft.
They say he was flying from Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Terrell, Texas.
Troopers say the NTSB and the FAA will be investigating the cause of the crash.
