Law enforcement searching for armed and dangerous man in Coal Co.

LEHIGH, OK -- Multiple agencies are still looking for a man they say tried to kidnap his wife in Coal County Saturday morning. Morgan Downing has more on what has now become a nearly 10 hour manhunt.

At 7:00 Saturday morning, Coal County Sheriff, Bryan Jump, says 41-year-old Timothy Paul Horn fled after he took his estranged wife by gun point from her home.

The Sheriff says the struggle ended when the woman wrecked this red car, and was able to flee and flag down a deputy. That's when Jump says Horn fled into the woods. His family members are puzzled by what happened.

"It's very odd. We're a very close family and for one of us to be in trouble or alleged trouble it's really got us uneasy and worried about him," Mandy Crites said.

Authorities say the woman is safe. They say she was treated and released by EMS.

All day deputies with Coal County and Atoka County have searched this wooded area east of Lehigh. State Troopers, including the OHP Tactical Force have also been assisting with the search. Authorities consider Horn armed and dangerous. That comes as a shock to his cousin.

"I have never seen this side of him. But we've been told the same thing, that he's armed, so I don't really know what to think about it to be honest with you," Crites.

Authorities will be searching the area throughout the night. Deputies say Horn has a shaved head and a goatee. If you've seen Horn you are asked to contact the Coal County Sheriff's Office immediately.
