Two upper level waves will interact with a warm and very moist air mass to generate thunderstorms through Saturday. Lightning and torrential rainfall that could cause flash flooding are the primary threats...with a secondary threat of damaging winds. Turn around, don't drown!
MCCURTAIN COUNTY, OK -- A McCurtain County man, found guilty of murder, has been sentenced to life in prison.
40-year-old Jerry Meek was convicted in October of first degree murder in the death of his wife, Hope Meek.
She disappeared in 2002, but it wasn't until district attorney Mark Matloff took office that the state was willing to try the case without her body being found.
Meek will have to serve at least 38 years before he's eligible for parole.
The McCurtain County Court Clerks Office says Meek is planning to appeal.
