ARDMORE, OK - A city employee is on leave after officials say they noticed money was missing from the water department.

The city has hired an Oklahoma City accounting firm to look through the department's books.

City manager J.D. Spohn said he will wait for the results of the report, and then consult with commissioners about whether any charges should be filed.

Spohn said that review could be finished sometime in the next week.
