Moratorium set to end on Lake Texoma shoreline management use requests

LAKE TEXOMA -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says the moratorium on shoreline management use requests at Lake Texoma will end.

The Texoma Lake Office will first process boat dock applications already in the database in the order originally received.

Then, they'll let the public know when they'll begin accepting new construction applications for coves with available space.

The moratorium went into effect in May of 2009 when the Corps received numerous applications following the heavy flooding of 2007 that damaged or destroyed many facilities and campgrounds.

The moratorium and the new Zebra Mussel rules are set to go into affect July 1st.
