COOKE COUNTY, TX - North Central Texas College recently received a $1.2 million dollar grant to help provide scholarships and equipment for Lifelong Learning's vocational programs.
The Texas Workforce Commission presented the grant to N.C.TC.
The grant will offer 100 scholarships at $500 dollars each and allow for the purchase of more than $400,000 in technical equipment for 4 vocational-programs.
N.C.T.C. president Brent Wallace said he's excited about what the new grant will bring.
"So we're talking about some of the industrial kinds of programs, some of the welding. That grant has really added to some of the other grants we have been able to secure to help train outside of the academic track, but workforce programs that students, when they are completed, are ready for jobs," said Wallace.
The grant will also provide funding to create new course delivery methods.
