DODD CITY, TX -- Authorities have released the names of the two men involved in a fatal shooting in Dodd City earlier this week.
According to the Fannin County Sheriff's Office, 43-year-old Marcus Maroney died at the hospital after being shot in the chest Tuesday, at a home on County Road 3200.
66-year-old Steve Jones was flown by helicopter to a Plano hospital where he was treated for a leg wound and released.
The Fannin County Sherirff's Office says their initial investigation with the Texas Rangers indicates Maroney's wound was self inflicted, and Jones was injured by the same bullet that passed through maroney.
No criminal charges have been filed.
