National Teen Driver Safety Week

ARDMORE, OK - This week is National Teen Driver Safety Week.

Car crashes are listed as the biggest killer among teens.

AAA Oklahoma said the chances of your teen driver being involved in a fatal wreck goes up with the number of teen passengers present.

From 2005 to 2010 over 95,000 drivers aged 16 and 17 were involved in deadly accidents. Forty-two percent of them had at least one teen passenger in the car.

AAA said parents getting involved with their teen's driving can help keep them safe.

They also recommend limiting the hours you allow your teen to drive and how many teen passengers they are allowed to have in their car.
