National catfish tournament held at Lake Texoma

POTTSBORO, TX -- Fifteen teams weighed-in between 3:00 and 4:00 Saturday afternoon at Highport Marina for the King Kat Tournament Trail.

The Pottsboro Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored the event. President Bobby Hancock says it is one of 20 tournaments a group from Kentucky puts on every year, and this is the first time they have held the event in Pottsboro. Hancock says it proves that Lake Texoma is still open for business.

"Even though the water levels are low there's still a lot of fish to be had and there's still a lot of fun to be had at Lake Texoma. So get the word out to people down in the metroplex, people up in Oklahoma. Come see us, " Hancock said.

He says they hope to make the King Kat Tournament Trail an annual event in Pottsboro.
