Nearly 200lbs of drugs seized in traffic stop

SULPHUR SPRINGS, TX-- A routine traffic stop in Sulphur Springs Wednesday morning netted nearly 200 pounds of marijuana.

Lieutenant Jason Ricketson tells us, he pulled over a car on interstate 30 for a traffic violation.

He says as he walked closer to the vehicle he could smell a strong odor of marijuana, and the 32 year old Tennessee man confessed to having drugs.

He says during a search of his SUV, bags of marijuana and cocaine were found. The marijuana weighed in at 193lbs and the cocaine 2.5lbs.

The mans name has not been released.
