New art studio comes to downtown Sherman

SHERMAN, TX -- A new business that allows you to show off your artistic flare comes to downtown Sherman.

Painting with a Twist is a new art studio on Travis street. Wednesday night was its grand opening and many enjoyed door prizes, food and they were able to paint their very own picture, of course.

You can sign up for one of the regularly scheduled classes where an instructor will walk you through your painting masterpiece and it's BYOB. You don't have to be an artist.

"You have to have to have zero artistic ability. We have people who come in here and say 'oh, I can't even draw a stick man.' And that's great because we don't draw stick people. So, you don't have to be able to. And it really does, it's just a great way to de-stress," co-owner Tedra Franklin said.

Franklin says art studios like this can be found in large cities, but now with it close to home she hopes more people will spend their time in downtown Sherman.
