FANNIN COUNTY, OK -- Lake Fannin may be a step closer to re-opening.
According to Fannin County Judge Spanky Carter, "We're very lucky to have congressman hall helping us in this and I think he wants to help us. I know he wants to help us and I know he will helps us and so we just have to figure out a way to make this deal happen."
After a 1, 400 signature petition was presented to Judge Spanky Carter last month, he met with Congressman Ralph Hall to discuss options for opening the lake.
The most likely option would be a land swap.
Judge Carter says he believes it will be a long process, but says they can get it done.
The lake was locked last year by the Forest Service due to safety issues from hazardous Trees.
