ARDMORE, OK--The city of Ardmore & ODOT are discussing a new road project to keep drivers safe. The city is hoping to get a new traffic signal after drivers voiced their concerns about the Veterans Boulevard exit off of I-35 .
They said the exit is dangerous because drivers go to fast on the ramp and don't yield properly to oncoming traffic. City Manager J.D. Spoon said the city has no control over putting up traffic lights in the area because Veterans Boulevard is considered a state highway.
The city of Ardmore requested ODOT to conduct a traffic study, which did show that installing a traffic signal at the intersection of veterans and Rockford *would help reduce accidents. The city is waiting to hear back from ODOT on when the traffic signal will be installed.
