BAILEY, TX - Fannin County officials have released new details in the death of woman found in a ditch over the weekend west of Bailey.
The Fannin County Sheriff's office says preliminary autopsy results show that 57 year old Jacque Sullivan may have died of natural causes, but friends and neighbors say something doesn't add up and they want answers.
The Fannin County Sheriff's Office says 57 year old Jacque Sullivan was found dead in a ditch off Highway 11, just west of Bailey Sunday morning.
Friends and neighbors are still trying to understand what happened to their friend.
"She was a very sweet person." said Helen Rosenbaum.
"She was a real nice person and everybody liked her." said R.L. Krase.
The sheriff's office says a preliminary autopsy report shows Sullivan may have died from natural causes, and exposure to weather.
R.L. Krase says he knew Sullivan for several years and something still doesn't make sense about her death.
"I don't know, it's kind of a funny deal, where they found her car was down at the end of the dead end road that she lives on, and I don't know why she would turn out of there and go that way." said Krase.
Deputies found Sullivan's car less than a mile from her house on County Road 4265 in Bailey.
They say she left her vehicle near a dead end, and it appears she took off on foot across pastures, ending up near the highway in a ditch.
"Her husband said that they had gotten into an argument and she'd left about 10:30 and told him she was going to one of her friends, well her friend lived up the street this way and she went the other way." Krase said.
Neighbor Helen Rosenbaum says she's still in shock.
"I didn't know what to think, really, I just hated it because she was here Friday, we had a good visit, she stayed for a while after she got through cleaning." Rosenbaum said.
The sheriff's office says the death of Jacque Sullivan is still under investigation and they're still waiting on full autopsy and toxicology reports.
Authorities say it may take weeks before final results are complete.
