HOUSTON (AP) - The dilemma of the deteriorating Houston Astrodome remains unresolved with the passing of a deadline to put a bond referendum before voters in May.

Harris County commissioners meeting Tuesday are taking no action on a bond question to overhaul the vacant facility. Voters would need to approve a ballot issue on bonds that would provide the millions of dollars to renovate the 48-year-old stadium.

But no one's really sure what to do with it.

The dome's been unfit for occupancy since 2009. It hasn't been home to a sports team since the Houston Astros moved to their new downtown baseball stadium in 2000.

The former "Eighth Wonder of the World" now languishes next to Reliant Stadium, home of the NFL Houston Texans.
