PARIS, TX-- North Lamar ISD's superintendent has announced he's retiring.
School officials tell News 12, Superintendent James Dawson submitted his resignation to the school board at Monday night's meeting.
Dawson has served as the district's superintendent for the past 25 years.
School board members say Dawson will be hard to replace, but they wish him the very best in his retirement. The school board will meet next Monday with TASB to start the process of hiring a new superintendent.
Dawson will complete his 48th year in public education before retiring at the end of June.
