OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The head of the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum says runners who did not complete the Boston Marathon due to explosions near the finish line are welcome to participate in the 13th annual Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon.

Executive Director Kari Watkins said Tuesday runners who didn't finish Monday's race in Boston can run in Oklahoma City's April 28 race for free. Watkins says the memorial can underwrite the runners' race, but not their travel.

About 23,000 runners participated in the Boston Marathon and nearly two-thirds had crossed the finish line when two bombs ripped through the crowd. Thousands more still running the course were prevented by authorities from finishing.

Watkins says runners can start where they finished the Boston marathon or can run Oklahoma City's full 26.2-mile course.
