OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma Commissioners of the Land Office is suing the developer of the former Lake Texoma State Park.
The lawsuit claims Pointe Vista Development LLC "completely failed" in its efforts to build a four-star hotel on the property and should either be forced to move forward with the project or sell the land back to the state.
Spokesman Alex Weintz for Gov. Mary Fallin said in a statement to The Oklahoman (http://bit.ly/1cSvEWa ) that the lawsuit will move Pointe Vista closer to a solution that leads to economic development of the property.
Pointe Vista said in a statement that it expected the lawsuit and declined further comment.
The developer signed a deal with the land office in 2006 to purchase 758 acres of park land at Lake Texoma for $14.6 million.
