SHERMAN, TX -- One person is dead after an accident on Highway 75 Tuesday night.

Around 11:20 PM Sherman Police say the driver of a Tyson produce truck travelling northbound on Highway 75 left the roadway.

He struck a guardrail and concrete pillars under the Loy Lake overpass and ended up in the median.

The driver, 53-year-old Kenneth Carter from Georgia, was pronounced dead.

The area is under construction but it's unclear what caused the accident.

Sergeant D.M. Hampton said, "The cause of the accident is actually still under investigation and so it will probably be several weeks before we have a determination, maybe, what maybe cause the accident."

TXDOT officials say an engineer inspected the damage to the Loy Lake Bridge Wednesday morning.

They say the damage was minor and there is no structural damage to the bridge.
