Man killed in Bonham apartment fire

BONHAM, TX-- One man was killed in a fire early Tuesday morning at an apartment complex in Bonham.

Police say they evacuated the Uptown Apartments at 6th and Chestnut around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday when a fire started in one of the units.

Bonham Police say 63-year-old Steven Ray Tramel was pronounced dead at the scene. They say Tramel smoked and used oxygen tanks, and they believe the oxygen tanks caught fire.

Foul play is not suspected.
