PARIS, TX-- Two local paramedics are remembering a fallen coworker by helping others.

Paramedics Justin Watson and Lindsay Goodson signed the paperwork and made the first deposit to begin an endowed scholarship for the paramedic program at PJC in honor of Joe Howard.

Howard was a Paris Paramedic for 12 years and was killed in a motorcycle accident in October.

"Joe was very generous and we hope this will be an extension of that, said Paramedic Lindsay Goodson. "Joe never met a stranger he was one of the friendliest people you've ever met."

"The goal is to remember Joe, remember why he is doing this, said Paramedic Justin Watson. "We really want people to remember Joe and the type of paramedic he was."

Paris EMS staff members have already raised over $1,300 towards the endowment and are continuing to accept donations.

Donations to the Joe Howard Paramedic Endowment may be made to the Paris Junior College Endowment Fund, c/o Derald Bulls, 2400 Clarksville Street, Paris, TX 75460.
