Paris Police officer injured on the job

PARIS, TX-- A disturbance over the weekend led to a Paris Police officer being hit by a patrol car.

Paris police responded to the 1300 block of E. Price Street for a disturbance involving a man with a baseball bat.

A backup officer arrived to help, but forgot to put his car in park.

When he realized it -- he jumped back in and accidentally accelerated hitting the other officer.

The officer was transported to the hospital and preliminary results show no broken bones.

The suspect was taken into custody by other officers on scene.
