PARIS, TX-- A proposed smoking ordinance that has sparked controversy at Paris city council meetings, is back on Monday's agenda.

The proposed ordinance would ban smoking at bars, restaurants and any public location, as well as the use of E-cigarettes.

Smoking will also be banned within 20 feet of any public entrance.

The city's current ordinance hasn't been amended since 1994, and was brought to the councils attention by students and health professionals in January.

If passed, those who violate the new law could be fined. The council can amend the ordinance before making a decision.
