PARIS, TX -- A Paris man was arrested after allegedly firing shots in his home.
Around 10:30 Wednesday night officers responded to the 300 block of NE 28th Street.
Police say a 42- year old Paris man fired two shots, one in his home and another outside of his home, before officers talked him into coming towards them without any weapons.
Police Chief Bob Hundley says it was a tense situation, but it was resolved peacefully.
"When you have shots going off and its dark and you don't know where everybody's at that's a pretty tense situation and they responded and acted quite professional," said Hundley.
The Paris man was arrested on an emergency detention, and transported to a local hospital for a mental evaluation.
No name is being released at this time.
No injuries were reported.
