PARIS, TX-- A Paris teen is continuing her mission to prevent skin cancer by hosting a color run this weekend.

Paris High School Sophomore Shikha Prakash started Operation: Save Your Skin in December as an independent project to raise awareness about skin cancer.

Saturday's 5K color run or walk, kicks off at 8 A.M. at the Trail De Paris. Prakash plans to donate all the money raised to skin cancer prevention resources in Paris.

"It's melanoma awareness month," said Prakash. "I want to increase awareness, and also I want to bring my entire community together to increase strength and run for this cause of skin cancer to increase awareness."

Prakash says more than 100 people have already pre-registered. You can register at 7:30 the morning of the event at the Love Civic Center pavilion. It's $25 to register.
