Pink hair extensions for breast cancer awareness

PARIS, TX -- A local cosmetology school is raising money for breast cancer awareness month in their own unique way.

Paris, North Lamar, Chisum and Prairiland High School students, as well community students, teamed up with Aden Ann's Boutique offering pink hair extensions or feathers for $10.

"Most people don't know how to get out to show their support with the breast cancer, they just don't know how to send the money in," said Cosmetology Class Aide Colby Hindman. "This way they don't have to hassle with all that, they can just come and we do everything for them."

Cosmetology instructor, Jamie Chapman, is a breast cancer survivor and her students say that makes them strive to get as many donations as possible.

"It makes me feel like I'm doing something good, especially for my teacher, because she means a lot to me," said cosmetology student Elizabeth Hines. "I feel like this is honoring her."

"It really inspires me, because it shows you can go through something like that and still have enough strength, faith and hope to keep doing what you love to do," said cosmetology student Aliah Ward.

All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society. To get extensions, feathers or to donate you can go to Paris High School or Aden Ann's throughout October.
