SOUTHMAYD, TX -- Southmayd Police say alcohol was a factor in a fatal crash last month near Highways 56 and 289.

Southmayd Police Chief Ron Blackwell says, the driver, Francisco Vazquez, had a blood-alcohol concentration of .133 and his passenger, Troy Walker, registered at .112.

Blackwell says alcohol and marijuana were found in their systems.

Walker was air-lifted to plano hospital with non-life threatening injuries and Vazquez was pronounced dead at the scene.
