SHERMAN, TEXAS -- Late Monday afternoon, Sherman police and Texas Rangers concluded a day-long death investigation near downtown Sherman, after discovering a body there early Monday morning.
Police say 64-year-old James Dale Walker's body was found at 6:30 a.m. on the ground outside Grayson Accentt Marble off Branch and Cherry Street.
Police say Walker suffered a gunshot wound, but have not ruled whether the death is a homicide.
"We're not saying either way whether it's a homicide or whether it may be something else. We don't know at this point," Sherman police Sgt. D.M. Hampton said.
