PARIS, TX-- The Red River Valley Down Syndrome Society kicks off their 10th Annual Awareness Walk and REACH Rally Saturday.
This year's event will feature a new activity-- a co ed softball tournament to join the cook-off and REACH Rally.
Executive Director Krissy Crites says they've met their goal of $20,000, but is being optimistic and hoping to reach $25,000.
She says the event is a day to celebrate the life and accomplishments of children with disabilities.
"It's very important to them to see people in the community come out and show that they care about them and support them and love them as much as everyone else does," said Crites.
The event will start at 8 A.M Saturday at the Love Civic Center in Paris.
