Residents share family holiday traditions

PARIS, TX-- While residents were out and about finishing their last minute holiday shopping, some stopped and shared with us their holiday family traditions.

"We all pick a charity and then we have a drawing we all write a check for $25 or bring cash for whoever has cash during this time," said Paris resident Matt Coyle." Then we put it in a hat and whatever charity gets drawn gets all the money in the pot."

Other residents spend time with family and play games.

"We usually have lunch or dinner around 2 and then after that we sit around and play cards and different games and by 10 everyone is tired and ready to go home," said Virginia Taylor.

"We play bingo and through the year I'll collect silly stuff and they can pick the prize that they want," said Donna Boutwell.
